Pregnant moms deserve to feel their best. As the belly grows, we see changes in mom’s postural curvatures. And as the pregnancy progresses the increased hormones that are released affect her muscles and joints. The joint ligaments become more lax, and the pelvis softens a bit as it gets ready for the birth process.
On your first visit, you can expect to sit down with Dr. Keri as she asks questions about your health and current situation. She will take a thorough history before examining your posture. The examination will involve checking your standing posture and ranges of motion to help determine joint mobility or areas of the spine that lack mobility as well as some light palpation to determine if your spine has any misalignments. We incorporate all of these postural assessments along with leg checks and vertebral palpation to diagnose and determine which areas of the spine are in need of treatment. All of this information will help to assess the course of care needed. You’ll find the whole experience very thorough and very comfortable.
I am also certified in the Webster Technique. This technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjusting method that reduces interference to the nerve system, and facilitates balance to the pelvic joints, muscles and ligaments. This is turn reduces intrauterine constraint. All pregnant mom’s in my practice receive this analysis while under care, to ensure they’re in the best aligned position by their due date.
